Michael Pinson is a Douchebag – Part 2
After I wrote my 1,507 post outlining the very specific reasons why Michael Pinson is a douchebag, the best course of action for him would have been to do…
Nothing.
Don’t take the bait. Don’t swing at the pitch. Don’t get into a fight with a blog that buys keystrokes by the barrel.
Because the more Michael Pinson tries to prove he is not a douchebag, the more he comes off as a, that’s right, douchebag.
Before I launch into my additional thoughts about Pinson’s douchebagery, let me say this, I am not going to go tete-a-tete with Michel Pinson. As Mahatama Gandhi once observed, going eye for an eye with a douchebag, just gets vinegar all over the place.
Needless to say, the response to my post yesterday about Michael Pinson has been overwhelming. Of the 2,178 posts I have written over the last eighteen months, none of them has ever been as well received as yesterday’s screed outlining why Michael Pinson is a douchebag.
Yesterday’s traffic to Saint Petersblog included the second highest total number of page views ever. There’s just that much interest in Pinson’s douchebagery.
On a scale of one to ten, one being a Bud Light and ten being a dirty martini, Michael Pinson is a massengill and water on the rocks with a twist, that’s how much of a douchebag he is.
To me, the apex of Pinson’s doucheness was when he convinced the otherwise charming Nadia Naffe that he was being considered to fill Mel Martinez’ US Senate seat.
As much as the US Senate is home to a collection of douchebags — Jim Bunning, for example, Michael Pinson was NEVER, EVER, EVER under consideration for appointment to US Senate. He couldn’t get an appointment if he was trying to schedule a haircut, that’s how much Pinson was NOT under consideration for appointment to replace Martinez. Pinson would not be considered for a US Senate seat or a Congressional seat or a state Senate seat or…etc., etc.
But what this lying blowhard does is not so subtly (the guy’s about as subtle as an alarm clock) that he is under consideration…
…or that Marco Rubio consults him…
…or that local politicians care what he thinks…
What Pinson is is the worst of all worlds. He’s neither the small-dollar, hard-working activist, nor is he the the well-financed, VIP donor. He’s the asshole in the middle of the room who makes your eyes gloss over as you stare at a point behind him, just so you won’t fall asleep, all the while wondering how the hell much longer must you listen to this bloated, obnoxious prick with his ballroom dancing girlfriend, before he just shuts the fuck up and gives you the damn check — a check you will have to hear about for the rest of the damn campaign. That’s who Pinson is.
Pinson is this guy…the guy who knows just enough to sound smart, but would get his ass kicked if put to the test.
So, Michael, how do you like them apples?
If you know this douchebag, you can just imagine him today, clad in some Tommy Bahama knock-off, pegging away his keyboard, trying to type “Progressive, Radical, Socialist” as fast as fifty-year old fingers can plug away.
Of course, EVERYONE in Tampa Bay politics agrees with what I said, but the vitriol for Pinson is not limited to political circles. The general consensus can be summed up by this message I received from someone who asked to remain anonymous:
Ok, yes I am a coward and sending this by email because I dont want him to “defriend” me simply for the reason you pointed out…SOOOOO damn entertaining! Its hard for me to believe people like him exist.
You didnt even touch on half that stuff about him that is so irritating to me! The list is endless….I have to say that the whole “Haiti mission trip” was one of my personal faves. I was so amazed he could get meds the govt cant and go down guns and all….not to mention of course his personal C-130 that he could pilot if need be.
I work in publishing and have to admit that the only time he ever gets me to post anything is when discussing the Mexican “boarders”…YES the man doesnt even know its BORDERS. That is simple 3rd grade stuff. Of course each time I correct him he deletes it.
Anyway….I could obviously go on and on but I wont since you obviously share the same sentiments. Thanks for making my morning….if you are ever on this side of the bay I would be happy to buy you a drink!!
But what a lot of messages sound like was this one I received via Facebook from someone whom I’ve never interacted with before:
Hi, my name is **** and I have to say that we disagree politically but on Michael Pinson we could be brothers. I detest the ground he walks on, he and I have had big arguements, I still see him at political events I saw him today in fact being an opportunist as usual. You have my support, again you and I disagree politically but we have common ground on this issue.
That’s Pinson in a nutshell.
But these posts were not written to just point out how much of a douchebag Michael Pinson is, with his 5,000 made up friends on Facebook, and his thousands of photos from charity events no one wants him to attend.
The point is, Michael, no one cares. No one — and by no one — I mean, no one, not any politician or political operative reads what you write and says, “Wait a second, get that son-of-a-bitch Pinson on the phone, I think he’s on to something.”
You’re good for a few grand, give or take, so yeah, you’re on a mailing list or two. But just because you got a thank you letter, don’t think anyone’s grateful for your help.
For the last time, no one cares when you call someone a Radical, Progressive, Socialist, chicken-fucker. If being a socialist means being your enemy, then I’ll be the Eugene Debs of Tampa Bay.

I don’t even know who Michael Pinson is. But these two posts have made me want to go out, find him, meet him, and get to know him, just so I can turn around and verify what a douche he is.

The funny thing is when this guy actually does write a check, he thinks candidates care about what he has to say. The only thing they do is roll their eyes when he walks away [this (Pinson walking away) only happens if someone more important walks by him that he can talk his or her ear off until they grab the knife to cut said ear off]. People at events actually comment (“about who the hell he thinks he is”) to their friends. I could continue, but why give him more attention? I pray he wakes up one day and realizes he doesn’t do any of this for altruistic reasons. I’m not holding my breath.
As I said before, you have a talent for writing and can be quite entertaining. But what gives YOU the right to criticize Michael Pinson? Between the two of you, YOU come off as the douchebag – kind of like a Bill O’Reilly wannabe. Unbelievably arrogant and obnoxious, as if anyone in Tampa Bay cared what YOU have to say! When is the last time you volunteered YOUR time and money to people in need? I don’t think you could carry Pinson’s jockstrap, son. On the other hand, if this is the only way you can generate traffic on your blah-blah-blog, continue. However, I believe slander is still a crime.
This person posting these radical posts is clearly not of sound mind. He has received a legal warning to stop his harassment.
Mr. Pinson is going to attack free speech on the grounds that the blogger doesn’t like him?
That’s silly, Mr. Pinson, not to mention entirely unamerican.

I do support Free Speech even for radicals such as Peter who attack people. However, he has never even met me before – ever. So for him to write such lies means that he is merely playing dirty politics and “Hate Speech” against Anti-Progressive Socialists in the community. I condemn such hate speech as everyone should as well. Peter thinks he is nor liable for his Free Speech and lies as he believes that he can harass anyone who he wants. I am not running for office or in public office. I am a small business owner employing 27 families. Now, this guy Peter wants to cause massive harm to my business and risk my employees jobs for his own personal gain in the community and web site hits. Considering his past with many other people, he seems to feel he can do anything he wants. My point is that what he wrote is wrong and even liable. He needs to be very careful about what he is doing here or he may end up court where he has been more than several times before in his past.
Michael, in your douchebaggery, you created a Facebook page proclaiming that you are a public figure, which makes you a target of ridicule and scorn, which you deserve.
Please, please, please try to make this a legal matter. By the end of the case, I’ll own Pinson Communications.

Uh Someone tell DB Pinson that calling hi out for bad behavior is not hate speech, it is not attacking his employees and business. You DB put your big fat ego out there in everyone else’s face with no weight behind you, so now you deal with the consequences. You are not a victim, unless maybe a victim of your out insane insecurity fueled PR campaign for yourself.

@Bill Sanders (nice promo for your site BTW)..as a complete outsider, I can offer that the author comes across as an honest critic of a public figure. If you place yourself as a public figure, criticism is to be expected. When engaging in prolific internet publicity, that criticism is multiplied, magnified, and intensified. When one steps into the public light, it is expected that negative comments will ensue. If a person is adverse to heat, they would be well be advised to take a few steps back from the fire. Individuals who possess average intelligence should not be public servants.

My favorite neighborhood douchebag, J Michael Pinson. What a joke. He’s as bad as you say and much, much more. It could at least be ignored, but he constantly starts trouble with people who’ve done nothing to him. I used to pray nightly Mr. Pinson gets everything he deserves!
While Michael Pinson is a self absorbed douchebag that thinks he is god, he is still far better than the psychotic predator stalker Paul Harris! I carry mace because of that lunatic and my girlfriends all hate him just as much as I do. All he does is cyber stalk people on Facebook and crashes events that he is not invited or welcome at!
I got a laugh out of this blogger bitching about Pinson trying to buy his way into a victory party with a 1000$ donation as Paul Harris is completely broke and doesn’t have 10$ to buy a general admission ticket to the festival of speed.
