Florida’s Top Political Tweeters for December
Below is SaintPetersblog.com‘s ranking of Florida’s Top Political Tweeters for December.
Because Klout radically changed their algorithm last month, there are radical changes to the rankings. In a nutshell, Klout’s changes prioritize quality, not quantity. When someone engages with your content, Klout assess that action in the context of the person’s own activity. These principles form the basis of our PeopleRank algorithm which determines your Score based on how many people you influence, how much you influence them and how influential they are.
Here are some interesting nuggets from the list:
On average it appears that most scores went down 7-10 points based on the new algorithm.
The scores of elected officials and politicians stayed the same or, in some cases, even increased under the new scoring system.
The new scoring has significantly decreased almost inactive/irrelevant politicians like Bill McCollum and Alex Sink.
Adam Hasner is still tops in the Florida U.S. Senate Republican Primary with a score of 48. LeMieux has a score of 43 and Connie Mack has a score of 46.

Many have asked what the criteria is to make the list of Florida Top Political Tweeters list. There are three basic requirements. First, roughly half of your tweets should be related to Florida politics. Second, you must have a Klout score (visit www.klout.com) of at least 10. Third, at least 25% of the content must be original content.
Klout scores are ranked from 1 to 100. The highest score on the list is 67. No one has yet to reach Justin Bieber territory of 99.
The Top Political Tweeters List includes a diverse group of tweeters. Polticians, news organizations, bloggers, advocacy groups, political parties, lobbyists, PR folks, and citizen-activists are all included. It is my hope that there will be even more interaction from my readers with this list. Please feel free to direct message me on Twitter or email me at saintpeter4@gmail.com with your suggestions.
