They are professors and attorneys. They run companies as chief executives and executive directors. They work in both the public and private sectors.
Connect Florida announced Class VII of its Statewide Leadership Institute. Created in 2007, it is considered one of the premier statewide institutes for Florida professionals between 25- and 40 years old.
“Connect Florida will provide these young leaders with incredible opportunities in the year ahead, and we look forward to seeing members develop as individuals, professionals, community servants, and Florida leaders,” said Chester Spellman, chairman of the Connect Florida Board of Governors and a Class IV graduate.
The Statewide Leadership Institute is patterned after the Leadership Florida annual program, and is designed to enhance leadership skills, provide practical experience in community service, and give participants a chance to interact with statewide leaders.
“For 35 years, Leadership Florida has brought together leaders who represent the rich and diverse fabric of our state,” said Wendy Walker, president of Leadership Florida. “They learn together from experts and from one another, and build the bonds of respect, trust and understanding that is needed to lead in today’s world.”
