Trying to close a fundraising gap, former Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff collected $23,250 in contributions from July 19 to July 25 in her closely watched election rematch against Sen. Maria Sachs. SunPass rates going up on most Florida toll roads

The cost of convenience on Florida highways is going up. SunPass users on Florida’s Turnpike and many of the state’s other toll roads will have to pay a little more starting at 1 a.m. Tuesday. The increase —  about 1.5 percent or few cents at most toll plazas — comes from a 2007 state law allowing annual adjustments of SunPass and toll-by-plate rates tied to changes in the consumer price index. Land conservation backers top $225,000 in May

Florida’s Water and Land Legacy, the group coordinating constitutional Amendment 1, a measure to boost land-conservation efforts, raised $225,098 in May for a total of about $2.9 million, according to the most recent filings with the state Division of Elections. The largest single contribution received last month was $75,000 from The Nature Conservancy.
