Pinellas County House District 68 hopeful Ben Diamond is going up with his first television ad of the general election campaign.

Diamond, 38, defeated Eric Lynn last month in one of the most competitive Democratic primary races in the Legislature this year, and is now facing home health care executive JB Benshimen in the Nov. 8 election.

As FloridaPolitics reported Monday, Diamond is crushing Benshimen when it comes to fundraising. As of Sept. 16, Diamond has raised $292, 688, Benshimen $14,608.

Now Diamond is spending some of that money on a new ad, highlighting his top priorities, which include holding Duke Energy accountable, protecting public schools, and ending pay-to-play politics in Tallahassee.
