Bernie Sanders will be stepping off the presidential campaign trail in New Hampshire for an appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend, senior adviser Tad Devine tells the Associated Press.
This will give the Vermont Senator an opportunity to meet comedian Larry David, who has played Sanders several times on the show.
David is hosting the show and is expected to interview Sanders. Devine says details of the appearance has yet to be finalized but “it looks like it’s going to happen.”
David has satirized Sanders as a candidate screaming of revolution while Sanders has played along.
During a CNN forum this week, Sanders was asked if he does an imitation of Larry David imitation.
“I am Larry David,” he responded.
Sanders’ Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and Republican front-runner Donald Trump have both recently appeared on SNL.
