Rick Baker will hold a fundraiser for his mayoral campaign at the Green Beach Brewing Company on July 31, his campaign announced Monday.

The fundraiser for the former St. Petersburg mayor is set to begin at 5:30 pm on Monday, July 31, at the brewery’s tap room on Baum Avenue North. The invite suggests a minimum donation of $50 for each attendee.

Baker, who served as St. Pete mayor for two terms in the 2000s, is running against incumbent Rick Kriseman and four others others for the city’s top post.

The most recent fundraising numbers and polling data show Baker with a lead over Kriseman, who is running for his second term.

The primary election for the race will be held on Aug. 29 and if no candidate gets more than 50 percent support the top two vote-getters, presumably Baker and Kriseman, will be put on the November ballot.
