“Ryan Just flat gets it,” says Screven Watson, commenting on the know-how of Ryan Tyson on the Florida politics scene. “He understands better than almost anyone in politics today that, to be successful, there must be an absolute relationship between data, research and messaging.”
These qualities have led to Tyson’s successful tenure as vice president of political operations for the Associated Industries of Florida, known as the “Voice of Florida Business,” where he coordinates all AIF political operations, including two powerful entities: the AIF Political Council and the AIF Political Action Committee.
“Ryan’s intellect is matched only by his incredible capacity to question everything, to guess at nothing, and to demand excellence of himself and everyone around him,” says Democratic strategist Steve Vancore, founder of VancoreJones Communications. “To call Ryan a rising star would be to underestimate his current impact as well as his future potential.”
Tyson’s expertise is in both hard and soft dollar fundraising, electioneering and actionable focus group research.
As a former legislative aide to Sen. Charlie Dean, Tyson managed the senator’s campaigns in 2007 and 2009. He holds a bachelors in public relations from the University of Florida.
“When we were looking at different possibilities for our Political Operation department, we knew that we wanted someone energetic, fearless and passionate about Florida politics,” AIF wrote in their announcement of Ryan’s role. “We feel certain that we have found that person in Ryan Tyson.”
