Gov. Scott names Rich McClain to Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority

On Wednesday, Gov. Rick Scott named Richard “Rich” McClain to the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority.

HART membership is made up of 13 individuals: seven Hillsborough County Commissioners, three appointed from the City of Tampa; one from the city of Temple Terrace and two named by the governor.

McClain, 58, of Tampa, serves as federal lead in Tampa for Deloitte Consulting LLP and is a member of the Tampa Bay Defense Alliance board of directors. Previously he was co-chair for the Tampa-Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, Defense and Security Task Force.

In 2011, McClain retired from the United States Air Force after 33 years of service, during which he served as Commander of the 515 Air Mobility Operations Wing, Hickam AFB in Hawaii. As Commander, McClain oversaw the Air Mobility Command’s air operations in the Pacific.

McClain will fill a vacant seat for a term ending Oct. 31, 2018.
