Heading into tonight’s televised debate between incumbent Bill Foster and challenger Rick Kriseman, a new survey from St. Pete Polls commissioned by this blog shows Kriseman leading Foster, 48 to 42 percent.

With just over three weeks before the general election, the televised debate is seen as Foster’s last opportunity to make a case for why he should be re-elected, why Kriseman is tasked with explaining to voters why he should unseat an incumbent.

Among voters who have already cast their ballot, Kriseman narrowly Foster, 48 to 47 percent. Kriseman’s lead jumps to 48 to 40 percent among likely voters.

The general election is November 5.
