Fatima Perez, most recently chief of staff for Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, will become the new state government affairs regional manager for Koch Companies Public Sector LLC.

With more than 15 years’ experience in state government, Perez has been a senior adviser to former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz and a senior legislative aide in the Florida Legislature, working for members of both chambers, including former Sen. Walter “Skip” Campbell and former State Rep. Annie Betancourt.

Perez also worked as an in-house lobbyist for BellSouth/AT&T, at the Akerman Senterfitt law firm. Before joining Levine’s office, she was a partner with Southern Strategy Group, the Adams Street lobbying shop led by Paul Bradshaw, where she represented the city of Miami Beach.

In an email to FloridaPolitics.com, Perez – who will be based in Atlanta – said she will be responsible for all state and governmental affairs for Koch Industries and its affiliates in Florida, and North and South Carolina.
