When it comes to “Checks and Balances” in Florida’s print media, it is increasingly apparent that there is none. In a coordinated attack piece, orchestrated by someone who had access to the Republican Party of Florida’s (RPOF) credit card records, (and for the life of me, I can’t imagine it is from anyone who currently has access), major dailies from the Panhandle all the way down to Miami have printed the same story of credit card spending by the RPOF, that came out on FRIDAY, on their most popular paper of the week, Sunday. However, the real story in all of this is who once again leaked this story to the two main stooges of this hit piece, Marc Caputo and Adam Smith. The target is obvious from the pictures in their online papers, Marco Rubio. Who are Caputo’s and Smith’s sources? Is it coming from the Charlie Crist campaign? If so, we have two of the biggest political reporters in this state actively inserting themselves into the political process, taking sides and trying to influence the outcome of an election. (yeah, big surprise there, /s off.) In addition, did these two journalists and the editors and journalists of all the participating papers to this coordinated hit piece have conversations prior to publication to ensure it got maximum exposure?
