Good news for Miami fans. The Miami Dolphins have signed Dan Marino all over again. And if that isn’t enough, the Dolphins signed Bob Griese. And Larry Little. And Nat Moore and Kim Bokamper and Sam Madison. The Dolphins re-signed six of their former icons, in fact, who promptly retired as Dolphins. Dolphins finally play a complete game in win over Pittsburgh

The Miami Dolphins not only won a Sunday afternoon. They de-pressurized the air around them. With a 30-15 victory over the powerful Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dolphins took the heat off of head coach Adam Gase, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen. Both teams have a losing record. Both teams have horrible defenses. But this is the NFL, where a team is still in the race halfway through December. And so we gather on a Monday night to watch the Miami Dolphins play against the New York Giants in a game where either quarterback might have a big night. Take Eli Manning of the Giants, for instance. He could go off on the Dolphins’ 28th-ranked defense. Or take Ryan Tannehill, who could…

Miami Dolphins ask state for stadium funding; short on ROI, long on wishful thinking

in Statewide/Top Headlines by

Four Florida sports teams have come to Tallahassee with the hope of leaving with state money to renovate and improve facilities, a process where the first step is scheduled to begin at month’s end. Each applicant – Daytona International Speedway, the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars – is jostling for a slice of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity pie, in the form of cash from the Sports Development Program. No one wants to go home empty-handed;…
