Money flows in Southwest Florida House races

Money is flowing in Southwest Florida, with Republican state Reps. Jim Boyd, Ray Pilon and Greg Steube each posting their best fundraising reports since the start of the 2015 session. Boyd, currently running unopposed in House District 71, added $39,000 in contributions last month, raising his on-hand cash to $56,246 for his fourth and final House campaign. Hospital taxing districts could face penalties if they can’t settle claims in 60 days under House bill

Health care has been extremely partisan in the Legislature these days but there was an unusual bipartisan concern expressed over a bill that would limit a taxing district’s authority to levy ad valorem taxes if they have too many outstanding unpaid claims.
