Ritch Workman is calling on his Senate District 17 opponent to immediately resign her House seat. The reason? Debbie Mayfield appears to live outside of her district. Ritch Workman continues to trail Debbie Mayfield in Senate District 17. A new survey by St. Pete Polls found Mayfield leads Workmam by nearly 18 points in the Treasure Coast district. A Cocoa Beach man has filed an ethics complaint against state Rep. Ritch Workman. The complaint — filed by Ronald Thomas July 20 — calls on the state’s Commission on Ethics to “immediately investigate” reports that Workman, a Melbourne Republican state representative, used taxpayer dollars to send a newsletter to voters outside of his state House district. The political committee backing Ritch Workman has spent hundreds of dollars on out-of-state travel for what it called fundraisers, but contributions may not always follow. State records show Citizens United for Liberty and Freedom spent hundreds of dollars earlier this year on fundraisers in Kentucky.
