Gaskin scored twice to break a 24-24 tie, leading the Huskies to a big win. In all, the 6-6 Huskies had 580 yards of total offense. One of Gaskin’s scores was an 86-yard run.

For Southern Miss, Nick Mullins had 331 yards passing, 190 of them to Michael Thomas. Washington’s Jake Browing had 284 yards passing. Jaydon Mickens caught eight balls for 95 yards.

Southern Miss could add only 22 rushing yards, however.

Washington lost four of five games at one point this year, but they won their final three to finish with a winning record.
