2016 GOP convention in Detroit?

GOP strategist Mike Murphy suggested Friday that Republicans hold their 2016 nominating convention in Detroit. It’s a very compelling idea although the fact that Ronald Reagan won the Republican nomination there in 1980 would mean a lot of nostalgia. I’m not sure Reagan nostalgia is what the GOP needs these days.

A better idea is to simply better produce the convention for television. The Romney and McCain conventions were both terrible.
