The Green Thumb Festival is seeking adult, teenage, and family volunteers for St. Petersburg’s 25th annual Arbor Day and Earth day celebration — April 30 and May 1. If you enjoy visiting the festival, try volunteering for a couple of hours, too! Volunteers are needed to assist in selling small trees, distributing plants by wagon at the silent plant auctions), assisting with the free plant giveaway, staffing the volunteer booth and helping in the arts and crafts area for children. Volunteers will receive a 2011 festival t-shirt (minimum two hour commitment, please). Students can receive volunteer service hours for time given. The festival will be held at Walter Fuller Park, 7891 26th Avenue N. on April 30 and May 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to the public.
