I have much respect for Justin Sayfie and all that he has done for all of us in Florida’s new media community, so I hope and trust he does not take this post as an affront to him.
But, damn it, Democratic activists and social networkers, progressive bloggers and writers, we need our own hastag for the end of our messages on Twitter! We need to stop using just #sayfie at the end of our Tweets. Justin Sayfie, for all of his pioneering work online, is an uber Republican operative, so every time we put #sayfie at the end of our messages, we are building the brand of one of the guys who will be working against our guys.
I’m not saying anyone has to stop using #sayfie, but can the few of us Democrats and Progressives start adding another hashtag to the end of our your Twitter messages:
#pfla
My partner in blogging crime, Joy Reid from the Reid Report has already to start using #pfla. I’m sure the great team from Progress Florida will be happy to start using #pfla at the end of their messages. Eric Jotkoff, Kennetth Quinnell, etc., will you please help us lead the way and spread the word about #pfla. (Warning, I will start hammering a few of you to start using the #pfla, so why not just save each of us the headache?)
Also, please tell Alex Sink’s, Dan Gelber’s, Dave Aronberg’s, Alan Grayson’s and all the other Democratic candidates’ people to start using #pfla.
After all, we can’t let Justin #Sayfie have all of the fun, right?
