First it was Jeb Bush, now another prominent Republican — Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam — is endorsing early Al Higginbotham’s campaign for the countywide seat on the Hillsborough County Commission.
“I’ve known Al Higginbotham for many years and I know voters can trust Al to do what’s right,” said Commissioner Putnam. “Al is honest, direct, detail oriented and hard working. Al has been a champion for small business and agriculture. He has been a leader focused on cutting wasteful spending, lowering taxes, eliminating unnecessary and burdensome regulation and creating an environment in Hillsborough County where businesses can grow and create jobs. I encourage you to join me in supporting Al Higginbotham for Hillsborough County Commission, District 7, Countywide.”
“Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam fights hard for Floridians and is tireless in his commitment to Florida’s agricultural industry,” said Commissioner Higginbotham. “I am honored and humbled by his endorsement and support and appreciate his friendship over the years.”
Commissioner Mark Sharpe currently holds the Hillsborough County Commission, District 7 seat. He is prevented from seeking re-election to the seat in 2014 due to term limits.
