Hillsborough County Commission candidate Margaret Iuculano, a self-described conservative with a history of financial irresponsibility and bankruptcy, continues to put her political campaign above paying taxes.

As reported in the Tampa Tribune, Iuculano refuses to take responsibility for two outstanding tax liens by the Florida Department of Revenue totaling $17,021. The reported $17,021 is in addition to the $1.9 million in unpaid debts that resulted from a bankruptcy finalized in 2010. Iuculano’s two campaign loans total $10,000, in addition to a contribution of $500 (1).

“Let’s get this straight – Margaret Iuculano owes $17,021 in taxes, but instead of paying her taxes like everyone else in Hillsborough County, she is using that money to fund her own political campaign,” said Kevin Cate, spokesperson for Commissioner Kevin Beckner’s campaign. “We knew she was a disaster with money, but this takes financial irresponsibility to a whole new level. She needs to pay her taxes.”
