The state Agency for Health Care Administration last week withdrew a proposed managed long-term care rule that had both the Medicaid HMOs and disability advocates concerned.
The rule was withdrawn on December 4. The Agency for Health Care Administration did not immediately return calls.
The proposed rule laid out the requirements for how the aged and disabled would qualify for managed long-term care community-based services and how the Department of Elder Affairs would screen applicants and compile a waiting list.
The rule exempted three categories of people from the screening process and allowed them to receive services immediately.
