As thousands assault the shores of Tampa Bay to join in Saturday’s annual Gasparilla spectacle, Uber will be on hand to provide transportation for all those pirates and pirate wannabes.
The ridesharing technology service – partnering with Captain Morgan – will be giving away up to $20,000 in free rides during the city’s annual pirate-themed fest.
For a share of the “loot,” new users can sign up for the Uber app online. Existing riders must open up the Uber app, tap the menu icon in the top left corner and tap “Promotions.” Enter the promo code “PirateResponsibly” before 2 p.m. Saturday to receive an email with the secret pirate password.
On Saturday, the first 1,000 riders to open the Uber app and enter the passphrase provided in the confirmation email gets a code for up to $20 off their Uber ride. The ride must be taken by 11:59 p.m. EST Jan. 31. Prizes will be fulfilled on a limited, first-come, first-served basis. Users must be over 21 years of age to receive the prize, and one prize per person.
With Uber, everyone can enjoy a safe and happy Gasparilla.
