This afternoon, Democratic congressional candidate Alex Sink kicks off a Safety Harbor Day of Action, calling on volunteers to go door-to-door, talking neighbors about her campaign.

The grassroots outreach event will begin Saturday at 4 p.m. at 1120 3rd St N in Safety Harbor.

In announcing the volunteer effort, Sink repeated her pledge to “work to bring Republicans and Democrats together to break the gridlock in Washington and solve problems that matter most to Pinellas County families.”

In the general election to replace the former U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young in Florida’s Congressional District 13, Sink will face the winner of Tuesday’s GOP primary —  either Mark Bircher, David Jolly or Kathleen Peters — in addition to Libertarian candidate Lucas Overby.
