Alex Sink to open Feather Sound campaign office on Saturday

Congressional candidate Alex Sink calls on volunteers, friends and supporters to help her mark the opening of a campaign office in the Feather Sound area of Clearwater.

To celebrate, Sink will hold an event Saturday, November 23 at 1:45 p.m. at the new site — 2325 Ulmerton Rd., Suite 23, on the corner of Ulmerton and Egret Boulevard in Clearwater.

Sink looks to replace the late U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young in the U.S. House for Florida’s 13th Congressional District, which covers most of Pinellas County. Republican Young held the seat for over 40 years until his death in October.

After Democratic attorney Jessica Ehrlich dropped out of the race, and Donald Hackett Jr. failed to qualify, the former Florida CFO is now running unopposed in the special primary set for Jan. 14, 2014. After that, she will face the winner of the Republican primary, either attorney David Jolly — Young’s longtime General Council — or Rep. Kathleen Peters in the March 11 special election .

Immediately before the  official opening Sink and several volunteers will be on hand, staffing phones to reach out to voters, in an effort to get out the former state CFO’s message of job creation and “problem solving, results oriented values.”
