Allen West opponent Patrick Murphy raises $350,000 in three weeks

Newcomer Patrick Murphy, Democratic Candidate for US Congress against Allen West in District 22, has raised an astounding $350,000 and attracted over 4300 facebook fans in the first three weeks of his candidacy.

“This campaign is building every day and we are just getting started,” said Murphy.

Murphy has not simply spent his first weeks fundraising: He has been a consistent presence at county party meetings and has been introducing himself to voters, activists and political leaders throughout the district.

In addition to the fundraising announcement, the Murphy campaign has launched an expanded version of the website and announced that over 4300 Facebook fans have signed up in the three weeks as well.”Winning the election against Allen West is going to take millions of dollars and the support of many thousands of people throughout the nation,” Murphy said.

“As a CPA and businessman who will bring a much needed prospective to Congress, I have been able to attract significant financial support from individuals and local businesses here in South Florida for this campaign. At the same time, we have attracted grass roots support from thousands of people who are tired of extremists like Allen West trying divide us,” stated Murphy.
