GOP-leaning SuperPAC American Crossroads launched a new ad buy today attacking Alex Sink in the Florida 13th Congressional District race.

American Crossroads, founded by Republican strategist Karl Rove, released the 30-second “Sunk” in a purchase totaling $357,000.

“Sunk” will air between Feb. 18 and March 11 in the Tampa Bay media market.

The ad features Florida residents criticizing Sink’s term as the state’s Chief Financial Officer, especially her control over the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund – one of the world’s largest state-run pension funds.

During Sink’s time in office, the pension fund lost $27 billion.

The ad ends by saying, “Helping herself, sinking Florida.” It is also available on YouTube.

“Alex Sink sunk Florida, and now she wants to reward herself with a congressional seat,” said American Crossroads communications director Jonathan Collegio. “Floridians deserve better.”
