Bev Slough, chairman of the St. Johns County School Board, is considering adding her name to a crowded, competitive field vying for Florida’s 6th Congressional District, sources close to Slough tell SaintPetersBlog.

The seat is represented by John Mica, but there is a crowded field already in or considering a run to replace him, including Richard Clark, Fred Costello, Ron DeSantis and Craig Miller. Democrat Heather Beaven has already announced she is running.

Slough, the immediate past president of the Florida School Boards Association, is a popular figure in St. Johns and the only prospective candidate to be elected three times.
