With Commissioner Lisa Edgar’s term expiring Jan. 1, a state nominating panel this week opened the application process for a spot on the Florida Public Service Commission, reports the News Service of Florida. Candidates for the job must submit applications to the Florida Public Service Commission Nominating Council by June 14. The council will winnow the list of applicants and submit names by Sept. 15 to Gov. Rick Scott, who will make the appointment. Edgar is the longest-serving member of the PSC, taking office in 2005 after being appointed by former Gov. Jeb Bush. She was reappointed to four-year term by former Gov. Charlie Crist. Application information can be found on the nominating council’s website.
