Poor, poor April Sheffield.
She knows she shouldn’t be running for Florida House District 55. Not only is she not qualified, but the incumbent she is running against, Darryl Rouson, fully deserves re-election. Oh, by the way, she was the handpicked candidate of that loon Ed Helm, who after scrambling to get Sheffield qualified by petition, was promptly let go by the campaign. All around nice guy Mario Farias, brought in after Helm, has also distanced himself from the campaign, although Farias says that is because of other business opportunities.
Anyway, Sheffield is on my shit list. And you know what that means. Political death by election complaint.
Sheffield was forced to pay her first fine on Friday for not properly disclaiming her first campaign website.
Paying the fine out of her own pocket did not sit well with Sheffield, who posted a “media advisory” on her new website:
On Friday, July 16th, my campaign paid a fine to the Florida Elections Commissions for a disclaimer that was omitted from a campaign web site containing my name. Although the circumstances that led to the decision to create a new web site remain in limbo, we hope to have them resolved soon.
The only problem for Sheffield is that complaints #2 and #3 are coming down the pike:
Complaint #2 stems from the fact that when Sheffield created her new website, she failed to properly disclaim that one also. She left her party affiliation out of the disclaimer — a big no-no with Florida Elections Commission.
In addition to her problems with her website, Sheffield can’t get the disclaimer right on invitations she sends out for fundraisers, hence complaint #3:
I guess what the irony is about Sheffield’s disclaimer problems is that she continues to omit her party affiliation, yet she claims she is the “real” Democrat running in the race?
