Today at a political picnic event in Hillsborough County, Congressman Dennis Ross endorsed Republican U.S. Senate candidate Congressman Connie Mack.

 Congressman Ross stated:

“Connie Mack is a freedom fighter, a true conservative and the leader Florida needs in the U.S. Senate. It has been an honor to serve beside him in the U.S. House of Representatives, and his vision for America’s future is desperately needed in the Senate, where the Democrats have failed to produce a budget in more than three years. His Penny Plan is the prescription our country needs to get spending under control and get us back on the right track. I am proud to stand with Connie, and look forward to helping him defeat the Lockstep Liberals Bill Nelson and Barack Obama this fall.”

Congressman Mack, thanking Congressman Ross for his endorsement, said:

“I am honored to have the support of Dennis Ross, a reliable conservative voice for the Tampa area in Washington and one of the House’s most promising freshman members.  Dennis knows that our nation’s problems are serious, and that the solutions that will get us back on the road to prosperity cannot wait. I thank him for joining me in the fight to retire Senator Nelson and return our country to its founding principles of freedom, security and prosperity.”

Despite Ross’ endorsement, George LeMieux still won a straw poll of those attending.
