Whistleblower suit against nonprofit housing group claims improper business dealings

A former employee of the Tampa Bay Community Development Corp. is suing his former employer for losses after he was fired. Christopher Brooks was an attorney and vice president for TBCDC up until he was terminated for bringing up what he describes as violations of federal and state laws and regulations. Two St. Pete City Council candidates face fines for turning in campaign finance reports late

Two candidates for St. Pete City Council did not file the latest required campaign treasurer’s reports by the deadline that passed Friday. The City Clerk’s office received reports from District 7 candidate Lewis Stephens on Tuesday and from District 5 candidate Phillip Garrett on Monday.
