The shuttered St. Pete Pier could be demolished later this month

The inverted pyramid could come toppling down as soon as July 20 if City Council approves a series of ordinances associated with building a new Pier. City of St. Pete internal survey shows diversity in theory, but not necessarily in practice

St. Pete city employees want to have a diverse and inclusive workplace. The city conducted an internal survey of 1,124 of its employees. There are a little over 3,000 total employees, including about 500 part-timers. The results of that survey show that 95 percent of employees agree there should be equal support and opportunities to grow in their careers. The survey was voluntary and all employees could take it. St. Pete City Council to approve contractor for new police station

St. Pete Police may be one step closer to getting a new headquarters. St. Pete City Council will vote on a recommendation from staff to enter into a contract with Ajax Building Corp. to oversee the construction project. In gambling, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. One Seminole Hard Rock Casino poker player is hoping to cash in on her different sort of loss last October. In a lawsuit filed in Hillsborough County court in May, Diana Bellerose claims she was struck in the head by a poker-chip drop box when one employee passed the box to another. Hillsborough couple joins barrage of lawsuits against Lumber Liquidators for unsafe flooring

A Hillsborough County couple has joined the growing list of people suing Lumber Liquidators for unsafe flooring products. A lawsuit filed in Hillsborough courts late last month alleges the company’s product contained unsafe levels of formaldehyde and caused the couple’s minor child to become ill.
