Here's where sh*t stands – the 'my gut vs. St. Pete Polls' edition

in Uncategorized by

Yesterday, a local phone banking operation, St. Pete Polls, released the results of its latest survey of pretty much every race on the primary ballot in Pinellas. I am hesitant to post these numbers because they run counter to not only my own internal polling but to that of other consultants working in these races. I can’t share those numbers, but I can tell you where sh*t stands. The numbers from St. Pete Polls showing Bob Gualtieri leading Everett Rice…

The Florida GOP's silly obsession with Charlie Crist

in Uncategorized by

The Republican Party of Florida this afternoon released the chart below criticizing former Governor Charlie Crist for what it views as conflicting position on voter rights. I’ll argue the merits of this attack in a later post. For now, I’ll just say, isn’t it interesting, with Mitt Romney in a razor-close race and Connie Mack floundering in his campaign for the US Senate that the RPOF has time to worry about Crist who, in case the GOP didn’t notice, isn’t…

Via Barry Krischer, former Palm Beach County State Attorney: As Palm Beach County’s State Attorney for 16 years, I’ve seen and experienced plenty of disturbing tactics during a campaign cycle.  But never before have I seen a smear campaign of character assassination by innuendo with complete disregard for the facts, similar to the one that is being manufactured against Dave Aronberg. Dave’s decision to get in this race was motivated by his desire to return the office to one that puts…

Stat of the Day: By September, 1 million Floridians will have 'concealed carry' permits

in Uncategorized by

Via Capitol News Service: Sometime in September Florida will have more than a million active conceal carry permit holders. Right now there are 950-thousand Floridians with a license to carry a weapon and the applications are flooding in. The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services processes those applications. Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam says permit holders rarely cause problems. “There continues to be an extraordinarily small number of concealed weapons license holders who break the law,” said Putnam. The state licensing…

Before you mock Rep. Peter Nehr for sharing half-naked pictures of himself…

in Uncategorized by

For reasons unbeknownst to me, someone has “leaked” pictures that Rep. Peter Nehr took of himself.  I put “leaked” in quotations because Rep. Nehr is the one who has widely distributed these pictures. But not for any untoward reason, but because Peter is very health conscious and extremely proud — sure, maybe too proud — of his body image. Before you mock Rep. Peter Nehr for sharing these half-naked pictures of himself, keep in mind that Peter overcame a personal battle with diabetes. After…
