First DCA denies stay in Barrel Racing case; opponents respond

The First District Court of Appeal on Tuesday denied a request by the Florida Quarter Horse Racing Association to shutdown a Gretna race track while the group challenges the ability of the venue to offer pari-mutuel wagering and card games, reports the News Service of Florida. In a one-page order that comes a day after the appellate court heard arguments, the court said the racing association had failed to make its case that it would suffer irreparable harm if the Gretna track was allowed to continue to operate while the underlying court challenge winds through the courts.
