BBQ and brews rule the ‘Burg this weekend, as smoky ribs, Southern rock and the art of craft brewing are featured attractions at two popular fall festivals.
Northeast Exchange Club’s Ribfest makes its annual appearance in St. Petersburg, with the best ribbers in the Bay Area. Sweet, savory foods join musical acts Daughtry, Starship with Mickey Thomas, Cole Swindell, Nancy Atkinson and others Friday through Sunday in Vinoy Park.
A Kids’ Zone, sponsored by Great Explorations, offers face painting, mini golf, mascots and more. Gates open at 11 a.m. daily. Tickets are available at www.ribfest.org.

Also on Saturday, Creative Loafing hosts an annual homage to the art of the brew, with Creative Loafing’s Crafts & Drafts at the Mirror Lake Shuffleboard Courts, 559 Mirror Lake Drive, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event features handmade items, craft breweries, kids’ activities, food trucks, live music and more.
Admission is $5 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
