Chalk this up under bad things happening to good people…

Benjamin Kelly, longtime aide and friend of state Sen. Jim Norman, R-Tampa, was indicted last week by a federal grand jury for failure to file federal income tax reports over a five-year period.

According to the indictment, which was unsealed today, Kelly failed to file income tax forms for years 2006-2010. During those years, when Norman was a Hillsborough County commissioner and Kelly was his aide, his gross income was $88,758 to $90,704.

Neither Kelly nor his lawyer, Ron Cacciatore could be reached for comment today.

Developing…but there’s more here from the Tampa Trib.
