Beth Kigel appointed to the Florida Transportation Commission

Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Beth R. Kigel to the Florida Transportation Commission.

Kigel, 43, of Lake Worth, is the executive vice president of The Goldwater Taplin Group Inc. headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida.  She was vice president and governmental consultant of KBS Strategies Group L.L.C. from 2008 through 2011.  Previously, Kigel was owner and president of Adlan Enterprises Inc. from 2004 through 2007 and the director of the southeast region for M/A-COM Inc. from 1998 through 2003.  She serves on the executive committee of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County and has been a member since 2008.  Kigel serves on the board of directors for the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and has been a trustee member since 2008.  She is also the chair for the 2012 Dwyer Awards for Excellence in Education in Palm Beach County.  As a public servant, she served on the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission in 2010, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission from 2007 to 2008, and the Palm Beach County Groundwater and Natural Resources Protection Board from 2005 to 2008.  Kigel received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.She will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Garrett W. Walton and is appointed for a term beginning January 23, 2012, and ending September 30, 2015.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
