Sen. Bill Montford filed SR 1200 Friday, a measure honoring Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston from Florida State University. Reps. Marti Coley and Alan Williams filed similar measure (HR 9003) last month, reports the News Service of Florida.

The Senate measure “recognizes the outstanding performance of Florida State University quarterback Jameis Winston during the 2013 football season and congratulates him on his election as the 2013 recipient of the Heisman Memorial Trophy.”

In addition to winning the Heisman, Winston also led the FSU Seminoles to an undefeated season as the national football champions.

During the season, Winston also faced sexual-assault allegations, although not charged with a crime.
