Bill Foster confirms he’s running for re-election

In light of much political buzz in the air about elections and campaigns, I asked St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster if he was planning to run for reelection next year. Foster replied, “Yes.”

“We’ve sewn a lot of seeds. Some have taken root. Some we have been able to harvest. Some take longer to bear fruit. It will take at least another four years for the city’s identity and progress to really show and to make the progress we plan to see,” said Foster.

Chances look very good for Mayor Foster in seeking reelection. Survey results from a telephone poll conducted February 2 and 3 by St. Pete Polls, compiled responses from 1,620 registered voters in St. Petersburg. Overwhelmingly respondents reported that they would reelect Mayor Bill Foster. In a hypothetical match-up for the 2013 race for Mayor, respondents answered: Bill Foster 48.5%, Rick Kriseman 12.2%, Leslie Curran 22.4% and Steve Kornell 16.9%.
