State Rep. Bill Hager has won over Democrat David Silvers in Palm Beach County’s House District 89.

The two-term incumbent Republican won with 53 percent of more than 52,000 votes cast, according to the Division of Elections.

In his victory speech during an election night rally at the Boca Raton Marriott, Hager thanked supporters for his win.

“I am humbled that our message of more jobs and less taxes resonated with the voters of District 89 and they have again chosen me to represent them in Tallahassee,” Hager said. “I will continue to fight for my constituents on issues such as economic development, education and public safety.”

“Palm Beach County is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. I am looking forward to continuing to work with my constituents and community leaders on issues that impact our neighborhoods,” he added.

District 89 contains much of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and the Palm Beach County coast to the City of Palm Beach.
