First-time legislative candidate Bill Young II posted another $10K in donations for April, which puts him now at over $61,000 in the House District 68 race.
Young, son of the late U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young, is running against Democratic incumbent Rep. Dwight Dudley for the seat covering much of eastern Pinellas County and parts of Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg. He raised $61,100 in total, spent $13,157 to date, and has $47,942 in cash-on-hand.
Dudley posted no contributions last month in his re-election bid, as state law prohibits sitting legislators from fundraising during the active session. The Democrat from St. Petersburg continues to stand at $104,185 overall as he faces Republicans Young and Joshua Black.
Dudley did spend just over $4,900 in April, giving him a war chest of $90,535.
Black raised only $350 last month, for a total of $4,926. With expenditures, he has $152 cash-on-hand.
