In Bill Young’s first TV ad, it’s clear helping veterans is a family tradition

For Bill Young, helping U.S. veterans get the care they need is a family tradition.

“Bill Young Supports Our Veterans,” the first TV ad in the race for House District 68, has Young — son of former U.S. Rep C.W. Bill Young – reminiscing about his father’s commitment to those who have served with honor. It was also his inspiration to run for the Florida House to serve the citizens of Pinellas County.

“My fondest memories of my dad were the time we spent with wounded veterans,” Young says in the 30-second spot, which is set to run starting this week. “Being there for them was the greatest honor of his life.’

That devotion it is what made the recent scandals at the Department of Veterans Affairs so heartbreaking for Young. And why the Republican Party candidate is pushing for state inspections of Florida V.A. facilities.

“I know it’s a federal issue,” he adds, “But I’m making it my issue.”

Florida has become one of the best states in the country for veterans, and Young promises to keep it that way.

Young faces Democratic incumbent Rep. Dwight Dudley in November to represent much of eastern Pinellas County and parts of Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg.

“Bill Young Supports Our Veterans” is now available on YouTube.
