Paula Dockery to abandon governor’s race

Chris Ingram first reported what has now been confirmed by multiple sources: Republican gubernatorial candidate and state Sen. Paula Dockery (R-Lakeland) will abandon her longshot campaign for governor. Dockery’s campaign has been stuck in first gear since she announced her candidacy more than eight months ago.

Since announcing, Dockery has had a lackluster fundraising performance. As something of a maverick in the state legislature, Dockery was never embraced by the GOP establishment or the lobbyists and other moneymen who can make a statewide campaign a success. Continue reading here.
