Bondi files legislative map with Florida Supreme Court

Attorney General Pam Bondi filed the legislative redistricting proposals with the Florida Supreme Court on Friday, starting the justices’ review of the once-a-decade redrawing of the boundaries for the House and Senate, reports the News Service of Florida. The filing, which was expected, means the court now has 30 days to review the maps and decide whether or not they meet state requirements. Gov. Rick Scott still has to sign the congressional map for them to take effect, but the Florida Democratic Party has already filed a lawsuit against that proposal.
