Bookmaker sets 15-to1 odds that FSU wins BCS — 6th best in nation; EJ Manuel 10-to-1 to win Heisman

Oddsmaker RJ Bell of is setting the bar fairly high for Florida State’s 2012 football team.

Bell is laying 15-to-1 odds ($100 bet wins $1,500) that the Seminoles win the Bowl Championship Series; those are the sixth best odds in country.  USC is the favorite at 4.5-to-1.

While the Noles aren’t a lock to win the BCS, Bell believes they are dialed-in to win the ACC.  The Noles are 1.5-to-1 odds to win their conference. And they’re all but guaranteed to appear in the conference championship game, according to Bell, who has the Seminoles penciled in at 1-to-4 ($400 wins $100) to win the ACC Atlantic Division.

Almost as exciting as winning a national championship is the possibility of a Nole winning the Heisman Trophy.  That may not be out of the possibility, according to Bell. He has quarterback EJ Manuel as a top candidate with 10-to-1 odds of striking a Heisman pose next December. USC’s Matt Barkley is the favorite at 3-to-1.

All in all, Bell predicts a great deal of success for the Seminoles. He sets the over/under on the number of games Florida State will win this season at 9.5.

Also, before the season begins,  the Noles are 7.5 point favorites over the Gators. The Seminoles have not been over a TD favorite vs. Gators since 2000.
