Brightest minds in Florida politics: Randy Enwright

in Uncategorized by

Randy Enwright is one of the downright best guys in Florida politics — as a human, as a thinker, and as a guy who doesn’t need to be flashy to big time deliver for clients.

With an office sharing a roof with the Republican Party of Florida, there’s little doubt where Enwright stands on the political spectrum. And that’s something his exhaustive client list reflects as well. Enwright has served as an advisor for state and national figures, with even greater numbers seeking his counsel. Among Enwright’s recent clients are U.S. Reps. Gus Bilirakis and Tim Rooney; State Sens. Joe NegronJeff Brandes and Reps. John TobiaHalsey BeshearsBill HagerPat RooneyMatt Gaetz, and Clay Ingram.

“Randy Enwright is the General Eisenhower of Florida politics. He was part of the group that led the Republican Party out of the wilderness in Florida. Whether leading the charge or leaned on for sage advice he has had an impact in countless electoral battles,” says Republican political operative Nick Hansen, CEO of Poli Solutions Consulting.

Enwright was “Karl Rove’s ‘go-to guy’ in Florida for Bush/Cheney” in 2000 and 2004, according to Daily Kos; and has advised Texas governor Rick Perry as well as Florida’s ownJeb Bush.

The guy has history, and a lot of fascinating stories to show for it. But even more notable in a politico this seasoned is Enwright’s obvious kindness. While many adapt the cynicism so contagious in this process, Enwright seems to immune — patient, even. This may be evidenced by the number of folks who quietly consider Enwright to be a mentor or role model in their own careers — whether Enwright knows so or not.

This past legislative session, Enwright lobbied on behalf of four clients: AT&TNo Casinos,Scotts Miracle-Grow, and the US Chamber Institute for Legal Reform. This coming campaign season, too, my guess is the Enwright operation will be in full gear. That’s a dance card any Republican candidate would be lucky to land on.

“I have had the honor to work with Randy for several years,” Hansen adds. “His skills as a top flight consultant are only surpassed by his heart and compassion for those he works with.

“We should all be so lucky to have a mentor like Randy Enwright.”
