Ben Beelman has withdrawn from the race for Town Council of Kenneth City due to illness in his family and a job offer in another state.

That means that the remaining two candidates, former council member Phil Redisch and first-time candidate Adam Mayefsky, will automatically be elected to the two open seats on the Town Council.

Kenneth City will still have an election on Jan. 31. Incumbent Mayor Teresa Zemaitis is running for re-election against current Town Council member Joanne DeSimone.
