Lieutenant governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera will visit the Tampa Bay area on Tuesday, in a meet-and–greet sponsored by the Hispanic Republican Club of Pinellas County.

Lopez-Cantera, Florida’s first Hispanic lieutenant governor, will be at Crabby Bill’s Sushi Restaurant on Tuesday, July 8 at 401 Gulf Blvd. in Indian Rocks Beach. The event starts at 6 p.m.

After leaving the State House, Lopez-Cantera served as Miami-Dade County property appraiser in 2012, and was a state House member from 2004 through 2012. He was Majority Majority Whip from 2009 through 2010 and Majority Leader from 2010 through 2012.

Gov. Rick Scott named Lopez-Cantera LG in January, replacing Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll nearly 11 months after her resignation.
