A political committee linked to newly appointed state Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis raised $135,000 in late August, as Patronis weighs running in 2018 for a four-year term in the Cabinet post. The committee, known as Treasure Florida, formed in August and posted initial fund-raising numbers on its website. The $135,000 included $50,000 from Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc., of Panama City, and $50,000 from the Florida Prosperity Fund, a PAC with ties to the business group Associated Industries of Florida.
